2018 Findleton El Dorado Mourvèdre. SOLD OUT
Mourvèdre is a late ripening grape variety native to the Mediterranean regions of Spain and France. Our 2010 Findleton Estate and Vineyard Mourvèdre is grown at Marchini Vineyard, Placerville, which has demonstrated to be well suited for this varietal. The label features artwork by Pamela Findleton, painted on location while on an artist’s retreat in Southern France, where Mourvèdre flourishes. The Mourvèdre grapes were hand picked, gently destemmed and crushed, and fermented with 30% whole berries. The wine was barrel aged for 14 months with 20% new oak. Our Mourvèdre is perfumed with aromas of red berries, flowers, vanilla bean, and exotic Indian spices. The pallet is rich and textured with flavors of black cherry and cardamom accompanied by hints of earth and leather, and a sweet, persistent finish.
