2010 Napa Valley Merlot
This is an exclusive, one time release of only 35 cases. The wine was made from 100% Napa Valley Merlot grown on rocky, well draining soil. The grapes were hand picked, gently de-stemmed and crushed, and fermented and macerated in small oak tanks for approximately 30 days. The wine was aged for 22 months in new Francois Freres and Taransuad French oak barrels. The bouquet exhibits fragrances of ripe raspberries, black cherry, briar, violets, dark chocolate, and spicy tones of clove and cinnamon. The palate is silky and rich with lively flavors of red fruit, sweet pipe tobacco, and a long finish of red fruit and toasty, spicy oak.
