2014  Findleton El Dorado Raven Red  Reserve Syrah

The 2014 Findleton Estate and Vineyard Syrah, named after Pamela Findleton’s “Raven Red”  painting, is 100% Syrah from Williamson Vineyard in Placerville. The grapes were hand picked, gently crushed and de-stemmed, and fermented in small lots with a combination of yeast strains to enhance complexity. The wine was barrel aged with approximately 20% new oak for 18 months. The Raven Red Syrah is deep red-purple, with a bouquet of boysenberry preserves, cassis, and hints of sassafras, accentuated by clove and incense. The pallet is rich and velvety with a touch of warmth, and luscious fruit forward flavors of ripe red berries. The finish is long with lingering flavors of white pepper and smoke.  Our Syrah pairs well with coffee rubbed ribs, smoked salmon, and oysters on the BBQ.
